My Home. Sorted. is an Australian designed and operated app and website. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

My Home. Sorted. is operated by Simon Barnett, an Australian individual. You can contact us at hello@myhomesorted.com.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following information when you use the app:

  • Your name and email address when you create an account
  • Home maintenance tasks, schedules and notes you create
  • Trade and tradie contact details you add
  • Invoice and quote records you enter
  • Property details including address, property type and year built
  • Photos you choose to upload of areas of your home
  • App usage data including how you interact with features

We do not collect precise location data. Your property address is entered manually by you.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the My Home. Sorted. app and website
  • Send you task reminders and notifications you have requested
  • Personalise your experience within the app
  • Communicate with you about the app from time to time, including about our companion website that can help you find tradies in your area
  • Analyse aggregated, de-identified usage data

Other than as described in this policy, we will not use your contact details to market other goods or services to you, and we will not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Aggregated data

We may use, analyse, and share aggregated data about how users interact with trades, maintenance tasks, and home services. This data is strictly anonymised — no individually identifiable information will ever be shared or sold. Aggregated insights may include regional maintenance trends, trade category demand, and usage patterns.

5. How we store your information

Your data is stored securely in encrypted databases hosted in overseas data centres. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption (AES-256 and TLS). Your account data and home information are protected by strict access controls — only you can access your data through your authenticated account.

Photos you choose to upload are stored in a private, encrypted storage bucket. They are not accessible to other users or the general public.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties.

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the app. These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. They include:

  • Cloud infrastructure and database providers for secure data storage
  • Authentication services for account sign-in
  • Notification delivery services for task reminders

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of notifications at any time through the app settings

To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete Account within the app. This will permanently remove all your data. You may also contact us at hello@myhomesorted.com to request access, correction or deletion of your information.

8. Cookies and tracking

The My Home. Sorted. app does not use cookies. Our website may use minimal cookies for basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. Children's privacy

My Home. Sorted. is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
